Note to readers: As of Feb. 28, 2021 I am no longer updating this blog on a regular basis. Vaccines are available. Scientists and the CDC can speak out now. This blog has lots of good posts on face masks, pandemics in the past, and Humor, which we all need!! Link to reliable, fact checked, resources I use regularly – podcasts, email newsletters, web sites, etc that I use.
For all my life, I had relied on the CDC for the most reliable advice on public health issues. Founded on July 1, 1946 in Atlanta GA to fight malaria, over time it became the world’s expert with many other countries having their own CDCs. Unfortunately, the CDC was not reliable for the pandemic until February 6, 2021 with the administration change. Now, the CDC is reliable.
I have over 17,000 subscribers to my appraiser newsletters, started in the early 1990s. Appraisers go inside homes and apartments, very risky. I wanted to help them stay safe. I started writing about the coronavirus in March, 2020 and started this blog in August. About Ann O’Rourke, the author of this blog
